Prithvi plays director in Renjith's Thirakatha
Prithviraj will do the lead role in Ranjith's forthcoming film, which has been titled Thirakatha. Remember that Prithviraj started his acting debut through Ranjith's Nandanam.

Prithviraj plays Akbar Ahmed, a young director, who created ripples through his first film itself. After the hit of the first film, a long queue of producers was behind him for a commercial hit. But Akbar was different from others and waited for a good script.

Meantime, he started a café and named it as Casablanca. The staff of the café was his own film crew consisting of editor Satya Narayanan, cameraman Kevin, still photographer N L Balakrishnan and Devayani.

The film to be produced jointly by Capitol Theatres and Varnachitra. The film has Priyamani as the heroine. She had made her debut in Malayalam opposite Prithviraj in Satyam.

The film will also feature Pranayakalam fame Ajmal Ameer in a pivotal role. The young actor has made it big in Kollywood with the recent film Anjathey, which is doing good business in Tamil Nadu.

Also in the cast of the movie are Jagathy, Siddhique and Nishanth Saagar. The shooting of the film started last month. Songs by Rafeeque Ahmed will be set to tune by Sharath, while M J Radhakrishnan will crank the camera. The film will start rolling in the first week of May in Thiruvananthapuram.

Meanwhile, director Renjith is facing the arc-lights for the first time, appearing in the lead in a movie titled Gulmohar. Ranjith plays the role of a college lecturer named Induchoodan and pans different periods in the life from the time of state declared emergency to the present.

The film also has a debutante Minu Mathew as the heroine. Directed by Jayaraj, majority of the shoot of this movie has been completed at Kozhikode.
